School has started. This is the first time I have come up for air! I have 2 very busy classes of 5 year olds. I must be INSANE! Anyway, scrapbooking is still at the top of my list and I am anxious to get back to it. The hours at the store are changing. Carlie will be there from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Tuesday thru Friday. I will be there on the Saturdays I have an event planned, which is almost every week.
The second Saturday of the month is always Crop till you Drop. I have a Math class that day, as well as the next weekend, so we will have to reschedule to October. If you are taking my album class, please let me know if you are coming on the 12th or the 26th. The class is full. Thanks everyone! I hope to see you all very soon. Hang in there with me, as there may be some changes happening at the store. Hope to see you all soon! Michelle

Fair is Over!
I love the Fair, but it is a lot of work and late nights. Carlie did really well with her pig, taking 3rd in her class in market, and 3rd overall in showmanship. Josh placed 6th in market in his class, and about that in showmanship. They sold their animals last night. Carlie got $2.70/lb and Josh got $2.10. Not bad at all! Everyone is crabby this morning. I am at the store but stressing about not being at school working. Maybe I'll go this afternoon. School starts in 2 weeks, but I have a math class all next week.
I still want to do the Calypso Album class on Saturday, Sept 12th. It will be from 7:00 to 10:00pm. I will also hold the same class on Saturday Sept 26th from 1:00 to 4:00. So you will have 2 days to choose from. Please let me know right away if you are interested. The cost is $29.
Happy Scrapping! Michelle

Wow! Time flies!

I can't believe how long it's been since I've written. Things happen so quickly, and I don't get a lot of time to breathe. When I last wrote, I was going to Yakama. Lee, Janet, and I made the trip to see Doris. She has a beautiful home, and is happy with her busy family life. Harry has horses and cows, and irrigation to keep him busy. I will post pictures soon.
After I got home, we spent a lot of time getting Clynn ready to apply for school. He was approved, and is going to start on Aug. 24th. He is excited and nervous. He has to take 15 credits this semester, but he doesn't have to work while he is in school. I'm kinda jealous. I really like college. So, all of us will be in school...that will be fun.
Today, I was up at 3:30 am (yes, you read correctly) to take Clynn to the hospital to have surgery on his foot. Everything went well, he will hop around for a couple of days, then start walking again. We painted his toe nails Shrek Green for the doctor (who thought it was hillarious!)Oh, and my sister Danyel called me the other day, out of the blue. I haven't talked to her for about 4 years. Noe we are texting and calling regularly. Kinda neat!
August is a really busy month for me, with fair, and then school starting, so not much going on at Running With Scissors. We will still have open crop time on Saturdays, and any other time you feel like comming in. The Get 'er Done Club meets on the 8th (always the 2nd Saturday) Come work and get some pages done! Then we will have the Calypso Album Class the weekend AFTER Labor Day, Sept 12th. It is a CUTE summertime album to put all your vacation pics into. Be sure to sign up with me early, there are limited spots.
Enjoy thest last days of summer! They are going fast... Michelle

I'm looking forward to a few days away. We have been super busy (what's new?) I cleaned like a mad woman yesterday. I have some painting to finish today, and curtains to hang in the living room. The house is really starting to look nice. By the end of summer, we ought to have things closer to done around here. Hope you all had a great 4th. Ours was eh.... Michelle

Fathers Day
Today is Father's Day and the first official day of summer. I feel like I'm growing flippers! Would a little sunshine be too much to ask for?
I can't wait for the Basic Grey Lemonade Stand paper and cards to come. They should be here tomorrow. I am also looking at BoBunny's Calypso paper. It is way cute! There is a really fun journal project that goes with it. I'll try to post a picture here. Let me know if you are interested. Meanwhile...Happy Father's Day! Hope you're doing something fun!

Accordian Album Class
I am doing an accordian album class today at 1:00. I made up the pattern when we went to McCall..SO much fun! We stayed up until 2am scrapbooking and watching movies. We ate until we couldn't eat any more. I am so blessed to have flakey friends! I am still working on making my blog public, and figuring out the right address. I think I have it now.
I appologize to the Flakes for not comming on Wednesday. I had to go to Nampa to help Clynn with some stuff for school. Yesterday I slept all day. Today I feel better. I am looking forward to cropping all night Friday. Everyone is invited! Call or email me if you'd like to come
See you all soon! Michelle

Toady has been super busy so far, but such is my life. I got a weird letter from the IRS. Seems they don't even know why they sent it. I am trying to help Clynn with his ap for school, and apply for a job. I have a bunch of work to do at the shop, so I'll be down there later.
I have an accordian album class on Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 if anyone is interested. It is a cute little album that flips and folds out. I am having Crop till You Drop on Friday and Saturday this week. June 19th and 20th. It starts on Friday at 7:00pm, resumes on Sat 10:00. Cost is $10. Call or email me to sign up. It will be fun, with prizes and freebies!

Here goes!
Let's start from the beginning... I am a FULL TIME kindergarten teacher, and very happy just having ONE job. But.. My husband, Clynn, and I took the kids to Pocatello for Spring Break this year because our oldest son wanted to see what Idaho State was like. While we were dinging around, we hit a lot of scrapbook stores (surprise!). All of a sudden Clynn says to me..."Why aren't we doing this? We could really do this!" meaning, open a scrapbooking store. So we thought about it, and talked about it, and jumped in with both feet, hence the name...Running With Scissors! Now, I didn't open a huge Archiver/Craft Warehouse kind of store. I talked to a friend who owns a little bookstore right on Main Street. She has 2 storefronts. She thought it would be a great idea to put some scrapbooking stuff in with her books. So I did. My first big order was from Basic Grey. I was so excited when it came! Then I ordered from Daisy'd. That was fun too. Clynn built a cute little display shelf, and I was in business. I just got back from Portland where I bought a bunch of paper racks and paper from a gal who closed her scrapbooking store there. I am so excited! I am planning crops, and classes. I'm getting more ideas every day. I am really thinking about ways to get customers to come in. I have new signs on the windows, and a banner that says NOW OPEN. But people don't realize that it is not just a bookstore any more. I have been getting more traffic lately, but still need to get things going. Summer must be kind of a hard time of year, everyone is busy doing something. I thought maybe more people would be staying home like we are. Anyway, wish me luck!
